Because all our trees burned in the 2011 fire we have a great view for firefighters. Beate and Tim and other neighbors have been in danger of a flareup in Medio Dia Canyon, so the firefighters have been coming up to watch it and take appropriate action.
Tuesday, of course, they used helicopters. Yesterday they brought up water
and they filled a pod of water by Beate and Tim’s and installed hoses and sprinklers, to be used if needed.
They used water from our hydrant to refill their truck, in case that was needed too.
The other pictures Andy took yesterday are here on Flickr.

Looks like you have a front row seat!
Yes!
exciting in a potentially sad kind of way – but that will mean Andy is on the radar…
Climate change is happening, like it or not.
Is that that the greenhouse I see? Did the plants survive? Sorry more replacements must occur but am impressed with Andy’s determination to do so again and how you two cope.
The plants in the greenhouse were very happy. ๐
wow, this is amazing and truly interesting. so glad Andy documented it for us. hope this fire doesn’t come your way. thanks for the photos.
We feel pretty safe now, and our neighbors should be fine too. ๐
Lots of activity at your place. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Yes, lots of activity. Who would have guessed? ๐
Could a person survive in the greenhouse if a fire were closing in, or would it get too hot and the air not breathable? Asking for a friend.
Those fire fighter work hard don’t they. Would not want to do it.
It would get uncomfortably hot. We think the house with the defensible space would be a better place if we had to shelter in place.
A kind of excitement you could do without!
Actually, it’s kind of fun since no one seems to be in any danger.
That pod is something else! That’s no job for sissies.
And theyโre not the ones fighting close to the fire. Weโre so lucky to have them.
Thanks again for keeping us updated. And thank Andy for photos.
Iโll tell him. ๐
What a nice set up you have. Very interesting what they are doing and praying everyone is going to be safe.
Thank you for the good wishes. It looks as if everyone is safe now, thanks to the firefighters.
if ever there was a practice of patience this continues to be it!
and you and Andy are getting marks of A+++ !!
XO
Thanks. ๐
