It was a mellow late-summer day Sunday when I went up to the land with Andy.
The nasturtium was still doing fine in the greenhouse.
But the sun is is getting lower in the sky so the corn is starting to lean to the south.
The wildflowers are starting to hang it up for the season.
(There are more, and higher resolution, pictures of wildflowers here.)
And Andy is back to clearing the defensible space after all our rains.

Love that ‘hot pink lavender ‘ of the thistle in the field.
I’m glad you liked it. It caught my eye too. 🙂
Looks like it was a beautiful day. Even at the end of their season, all the wildflowers are pretty.
Yes. This was a great year for them. 🙂
I love that stump with the purple flowers. I can tell by your photos autumn is edging in on your mountain top. they are still beautiful but can see they are looking a little sad. still beautiful, but then your homestead is beautiful at all times of the year. hope that pine tree makes it..
Thanks. I will let you know. 🙂
Andy’s weedeater looks like what I used to use at work! I love the wildflowers, too.
That brush cutter helps a lot .
I have never seen corn lean like this!
That’s because the heat-storing wall cuts off the light from the north. It is fun to see. It’s like houseplants that grow towards the windows.
Even though they’re growing weary, wildflowers are my favorites.
It was a great year for them.
we must all be on the same time line – spring is arriving – not all over as you can see the streets lined with trees still in winter mode, whilst others have their blossom dresses on. the last few days gloriously fine but get in a shady part of one where the breeze drifts in and it’s still cold.
on the cusp as one if prone to say…
That’s a good description…on the cusp. 🙂
