Andy and I left around 6:30 every evening, just after the sun went down, so we could start the drive home before it got dark. Apparently Tempi likes to watch the car leave. In the first shot she was facing towards the north watching us drive down to the valley. Kaitlin said Tempi would move her body on the stump as she tracked us.
Then when the car disappeared she moved to the east of the house to watch us drive in the valley. The little white circle marks where the car was when Kaitlin took the picture.
Great photos, Kaitlin. Thank you! These are some of my very favorites.

Good grief! She is quite a unique dog!
Yes. 🙂
Tempi’s the most remarkable soul! (As is her apprentice, Zoe!)
🙂
so intelligent understanding that you and Andy are not coming back tonight – but making sure that Kaitlin and Torben are there to get the pictures …
Tempi is a very smart dog!
Aww, how sweet she is.
Yes. 🙂
Knowing the story behind the photos is just too sweet for words!!!!!
Bless Kaitlin for taking the pictures and for telling me the story.
Tempi on the stump is a work of art! so smart! Tempi must have tracker genes. Come back please! that is what is going through her mind
I was surprised she could track with her eyes.
She is one smart dog! She must really love you guys.
She definitely is smart. A few years ago when she wasn’t allowed on the couch she waited until we left and tried getting on it. When Kaitlin said no, she made sure that was still true. She knew it was our (Andy’s) rule and that we were no longer there. Kaitlin now covers the couch with a sheet so the rule no longer holds.
Dogs are so smart! They love their grandparents.
🙂
That is so precious and sweet.
🙂
This cat-lover also loves these dog pictures of your last two posts. Great work.
Kaitlin did a great job on these. 🙂
