Sometimes, if you want to be happy, you’ve got to run away to Bath and marry a punk rocker. Sometimes you’ve got to dye your hair cobalt blue or wander remote islands in Sicily, or cook your way through Mastering the Art of French Cooking in a year, for no very good reason. Julia taught me that.

For me it’s blogging, of course. I started blogging twice a week in 2007, then for the past nine plus years I’ve been doing it every day. It’s one of my happy places.
Stay curious and open to life. No matter what happens keep learning and growing. Find what you love and find a way to share it with others.
Blogging makes it easy to do that.
What are your happy places?
November 5, 2022
My happy place? Wow, I have many. One time it could be at a restaurant, the next…in a comfy chair with a good book. Maybe at a theater with a bag of hot popcorn, or laying my head down on a soft pillow. I could go on and on.
Good for you! The more places the better. 🙂
I’m quite sure that running away to Bath to marry a punk rocker would NOT make me happy…lol
Blogging does it for me as well. I attempt to blog every day and I try to keep it on a positive note. That way I’m forced to use my brain AND find something positive in the day.
Yes!! 🙂
Books have been and always will be my happy place! But I have added to that the love of blogging and taking photographs and playing with cameras all of which makes me very happy
It’s nice to have a choice. And it’s much better than worrying about things we have no control over.
I think Anni just nailed it! I could sure go for a bag of popcorn and a good movie. As long as my pups are near, I’m good.
🙂
Blogging is one of my happy places too. Along with conversations around the lunch table here.
🙂
Gosh, I never thought of this. I would say anywhere my husband is.
You use a lot of great quotes. Do they make you happy too?
My comfy chair with a good, clean romance. Or sharing anything with my Dave. He takes such good care of me.
But, I miss Tammy; we were so supportive of one another that she was one of my happy places.
Tammy. I know. 🙁
oh yes Anni
and oh yes Tammy
but what else, well at the moment I’m in one of the “bends on my flowing river” – looking at what else, what when, and so forth…but in a kind of happy place of “seeing the what” 🙂
It does sound as if you are in a great place right now. 🙂
There are a lot of happy places for me…a country drive, a walk in the woods (which I have not experienced since Roger’s stroke. Well, maybe a walk of a few feet. but that does not count) A good book, oh, and a powerful one is smells. Certain ones almost make me cry with joy…some take me back to my youth instantly. And sewing. It is my therapy…but this is only a few.
I’m glad you have so many. That becomes more and more important as we get older and the world gets crazier.
Way to go on blogging everyday. I started in 2009. I’m glad it is your happy place.
