First of all, Beate says she thinks the creature I’ve been calling a dog in the last puzzle is really supposed to be an alligator. I’m sure she’s more correct than I was because it doesn’t have ears. Yea, Beate!
These problems require a different kind of thinking. (Click on the picture for higher resolution):
The first one I knew because I read the answer years ago. It’s often used as an example of how to think outside the box. The rest of these I looked at long enough to appreciate the solutions, especially the ones on the top right and bottom left. I enjoyed seeing the solutions to those, but I don’t want to spend much time on this kind of challenge.

If you like puzzles, which ones do you prefer? Learning to use electronic devices counts, Sandra! Nowadays that kind of problem solving is a great skill to have.
At the moment we’re starting to write our Christmas letter, including pictures about the wildfire last spring. That keeps our little grey cells tuned up too!

the puzzles I like have to do with creativity. Right now I’ve only just fathomed out that my printer thinks it’s in the USA and that what it says is an A4 sheet that arrives out of the print door is actually the American sized paper…I finally measured it yesterday. I will need to invite my techy friend H over to help sort that out, as I’m having to cut off edges which are scrap but I don’t want scrap!
But H’s son M’s hand collided with a DodgeBall some type of sport and his arm is in plaster to his elbow so he’s nursing a splint and that’s going to slow down part of his summer school holiday as it’s not due to released for month. They spent a whole day at A & E waiting to be taken c are off.
🙂
the only puzzles I love are what you mentioned, my skill is poking at it until I figure it out. sometimes I feel really dumb because once I figure it out it is/was simple. these type puzzles make drive me crazy, mother loved them..
There are so many things to figure out and remember it gets complicated.
Usually when it comes to puzzles like this I will try to figure them out but more often than not I will look at the answers and wonder why I didn’t think of that solution.
I find I learn lot by looking at the answers. Sometimes it helps in the future, and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t. I’m so glad we’re not in school anymore!
I’m going to say the top right is my favorite — on account it’s the only one I got!
🙂
Wow, those are different. Thanks for sharing the answers.
It’s fun to share. 🙂
My style is word puzzles. I play Words With Friends on line.
It’s fun to have ones we love. It doesn’t matter what kind.
I think the pig farmer cheated. No one said we could double back in a stall just because it didn’t have a pig in it.. Some of my hidden object adventure games have puzzles like these.
I liked that one even though it was a trick. The problem became trivial after that.
