A Bit of Color

It didn’t snow for very long Monday, but the clouds lasted long enough to give a bit of color to the sky as the sun set.

That’s always a special treat because it doesn’t happen often.

Andy said there wasn’t much accumulation of snow up in the mountains, but it was cold and windy. It’s been cold down here, too. The temperature range was about 17°F to 28°F yesterday, and the cold spell is supposed to last for a while. I still like winter better than summer.

Stay safe and warm! And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Anni said she would like to see our Christmas letter. Here it is.

  1. No Snow here but darn way to much Rain

Monday turned out nice and sunny – and a big reminder come 11pm that night of how sticky and hot it could be – come later when it’s say January and into real summer

Tuesday was supposed to rain, it was drizzling a bit. I debated on whether to cart my brolly, but the sun just dried it all out and no rain whilst I was bus hopping.

Today, it’s been back to rain, no heavy but annoying drizzle…I did take my brolly and I attempted to use it when I was 1/2 a km from home, but it was too windy and so I just knew I could get into dry duds as soon as I came home.

And the weather app now has a new dandy feature about “laundry” weather – this morning it stated “wet” and predicted 5+ days before you would have your washing all dry (below the box it advertises you should get a dryer).

What a beautiful sky that is. Glad you didn’t get a whole lot of snow.

The letter and photos are so good…what a time of year for you two. That cleared land perimeter around the cabin/home is genius

Thanks for sharing this. It means a lot. Your snow was little accumulation, but cold!!!

The sky is gorgeous! This is unusual when there is snow on the ground.

We also have a bit of snow on the ground and very cold temperatures. I have to go out tomorrow for an appointment I made 4 months ago. It’s hard to schedule that far out this time of year. Hopefully tomorrow’s horrible weather won’t mean horrible driving. I hope you get to stay home and stay safe.

  6. Beautiful! I’m so glad you were able to capture the moment.

18 degrees here when I rose at 6 a.m. But warm in the house so it’s okay. I made a couple of jaunts to the mailbox but that’s all for today. Pretty skies over there.

It’s impossible to look at that sky and feel calm. Joy I guess might be the word I’m looking for.
