He was sharpening the blades in yesterday’s picture. He never goes up to the land without a saw in good condition.
For many years after the 2011 fire he wouldn’t have been able to get up to the land without clearing trees off the road. For instance, on October 12, 2014:
And December 22, 2014:
Even as late as December 2021 he had challenges.
We count Thursday as a good day. Andy’s shin was banged up, but he didn’t go down the hill with the log.
—We’ll Count That as a Good Day
Fortunately it’s a lot better now, but he’s not taking any chances.

go careful Andy – and don’t forget to rest your shin/leg – keep it covered until you see a true healing…
It happened in December, 2021, so it’s well healed by now.
I must’ve missed some thing I did not know that he hurt himself on Thursday I’m going to go and look through the post. I don’t know how I missed one sorry he hurt his leg I’m glad that he did not go down the hill. Hope all is well today
It happened in December, 2021. I used it as an example of all the trees he had to deal with.
Some of those trees look pretty heavy. Oh my, so sorry to hear Andy got hurt. That was lucky that he didn’t go down the hill.
He was’t seriously hurt. He’s very careful, for good reason!
What a fright! A lesser man might not have been so fortunate.
He’s very careful!
It all sounds quite risky!!
That was in December, 2021, I’m not sure he could still do it today. He tries to be aware of his changing limits.
That man of yours is strong, mighty and willing! And I bet a heart of gold.
Not so strong any more. Just truckin’ along, doing the best he can with what he has left. 🙂
Stay well. Both of you.
Thank you, you and your wife too. 🙂
