If you were to take a swim in the clear blue waters surrounding Santa Cruz, California, in recent days, you may have encountered an unlikely predator. Small and dark, whiskered and fluffy, she has developed a knack for theft and a taste for surfboards.
Her name is 841. She is a sea otter.
—BBC, A surfboard-stealing otter is on the run
The article has a video of the otter stealing a surfboard from its owner.

we saw this on the news a few days ago, showed her biting a surfboard. so maybe not only humans go crazy. LOL
🙂
Well isn’t that interesting. Makes you wonder why caused this one to become more aggressive and why it’s taken a liking to surf boards.
It’s really strange.
That’s crazy! Funny … but maybe not so much if you’re in the water with it.
I wouldn’t want to mess with one, they have a strong bite!
Awww, I’m sure she means no harm. Otters just wanna have fun!
I don’t know…. I wouldn’t want to take a chance.
I saw this little mischief maker on the news a couple of times. She’s downright adorable, but I know can be dangerous too. Maybe they should be creative, and get her her own board. 🙂 –But I hope she’s found before she or someone gets hurt.
They are definitely looking for her!
oh wow
and yes we have otters but I believe only at zoos…
It would be scary to meet one that wanted my surfboard! Fortunately, no danger of that ever happening. 😀
