Simplifying Our Lives

In yesterday’s post Sandra asked,

If you saw me once a week would you notice I always had on the same clothes?

I said,

I wouldn’t notice, or if I did I would think you’re sensible. Andy and I always wear the same kind of clothes. It saves a lot of time thinking about what we want to wear.

It reminds me of when we were shopping in Santa Fe shortly after we retired. A fellow saw Andy and said,

Andy Browman! I looked over and thought, “I know those clothes.” And I looked up and thought, “I know that face too.” How are you doing?

And a few months ago when Andy was in the grocery store a fellow said,

Andy Browman! You’re the only guy in town who wears short-sleeved white shirts.

We retired years ago and Andy didn’t remember who the fellow was, but the fellow remembered Andy and his distinctive style.

We’re not the only ones who simplify our lives this way. Click on this link.

I’ve a couple of sets of clothes that reserve as going out clothes…
Some items somehow are all year round!

At home I’ve scruffy clothes, most which reveal paint or similar marks…

I have a huge grin on my face, welcome to my club. ha ha… no one ever sees bob in a shirt, he always has on sleeveless t-shirts or tank tops, he has 1 t-shirt with sleeves for cool days only. you have proved me right! people do notice what we wear and remember it. now I KNOW the WM lady knows i wear the same shirt every Saturday

Oh, that Pickles cracks me up! Even being retired, I have “going to Publix clothes” (v. WalMart) or those more suitable for doctors’ appointments. (Ya, like they’re going to judge patients on their attire? LOLOLOL)

I was telling Sandra how, on a visit to UAB, the NP said, “I remember you because you’re wearing the same lavender jogging suit.” Only then I realized I looked ready for an 80’s scene of Golden Girls.

I love that cartoon! Now I am wondering why no one there wears short sleeved white shirts…

Tee-shirts and jeans here. But now that Autumn has arrived, my cardigan sweaters are getting a lot of use!

For work I have several of the same pants and shirts. They were inexpensive and when I bought them we had a dress code of black pants and black shirt. People probably think I wear the same clothes day after day.
