Serenity and Humor

I won’t go into details, but I’ve been thinking of trying to be more serene. Tempi and Zoe might be good role models?

Serene Tempi (from a 2022 post):

Tempi

Tempi can be mischievous at times, but she’s often poised and alert. Kaitlin and Torben adopted Zoe in June 2018, and a few months later, when Kaitlin and I were talking on the phone, there was suddenly a lot of loud barking in the background. It turned out Tempi was sitting on the couch calmly looking out the window, as she loved to do, and Zoe was barking in her ear, apparently trying to get Tempi’s attention. Tempi didn’t even flinch, she continued calmly looking out the window.

But Zoe can be serene too:

Actually thinking about them makes me laugh. That’s even better than serenity.

  1. interesting

you could just “sit still in the moment” or use it as a “meditation pose”

I think Ramana was the master of such a way …

  2. Those two are serene and precious. The video was fun too!

… and now, they’re making me laugh!
(Or as the author Anne Lamott calls it, “Carbonated holiness.”)

  4. Ginny Hartzler says:

What an interesting story. I never connected dogs with serenity. Cats are what really come to mind of course. Perhaps Tempi is atypical!

  5. Bruce Taylor says:

Tempi finally said, “Oh, the hell with that lazy mutt!”

  6. Ann Thompson says:

Loved that video. It made me smile.

  7. MadSnapper says:

help I am smiling and I can’t stop. the first pic melted my heart, the last one made me laugh. opposites do attract. Tempi ad Beau are so much alike. Beau is the most serene dog I have ever been owned by.
