Toddler and Christmas Presents

Did anyone else hear about this?

North Carolina toddler who opened his entire family’s Christmas gifts at 3 a.m. Christmas morning was just trying to be helpful, his parents explain.
Toddler Who Opened Up Everyone’s Christmas Presents Had a Clever Reason

The parents didn’t know about it until the 3-year-old woke them up to ask for scissors. He had found the present he wanted and needed the scissors to cut it out. He had thought he was doing every one a favor, but the 6-year-old would have been upset to see the opened presents. So the parents had to tape the wrappings back on before he woke up.

It reminds me of the Marlo Thomas song,

And some kind of help is the kind of help
That helping’s all about
And some kind of help is the kind of help
We all can do without

I say he is a brat and wanted all the toys for himself and has no idea at all of helping others. and never will because they think it was cute that he wanted to help. heaven help this world when that age group is in charge.

He’s only 3, I believe the parents that he didn’t know. They’ll get revenge later, when they tell the story at his wedding.

  2. Beautiful tree. It would be interesting what the parents said to the child, if he got any kind of punishment or lecture. Three is pretty young to understand the concept of waiting for everyone.

OMW, can you imagine! That’s going to be told at every family gathering as long as that boy lives.

Not so funny, this reminds me of something that happened years ago at my workplace. One of the managers brought her 4 y/o son along to work; when she wasn’t paying attention, he went out into the lobby and unwrapped every one of the presents sitting under the tree. Of course, they were all empty boxes put out for decor — but it resulted in my having to re-wrap every stinkin’ one. (Gift-wrap is probably my least favorite part of Christmas anyway.)

  4. No, I didn’t see anything about this. That is really something, but it is also kinda cute.

I wonder how many times over the years I have quoted that song? And others from the Free to Be album?

Well, he sure had a clever excuse!

  7. Yes, that was on the local news here. Those parents should have known mischief was in the air!

    I had seen that. Hilarious!

LOL, that’s too funny. When my son was quite young he woke up before me and found all the wrapped gifts for me in the closet where his dad had left them. He proceeded to unwrap them. I woke up and found all my gifts and had to rewrap and pretend to be surprised Christmas morning when I opened them.
