I don’t have any pictures yet, but the two new plum trees arrived and Andy’s been planting one of them in the fenced area by the old greenhouse.
This is picture of the transparent apple tree that he dug out and replaced with the new plum tree.
Zoomed:
The picture was taken in May, 2022 after the fire burned the trees and vegetation.
I’ve asked him to take more pictures today because as he was on the downhill side of the tree fixing the watering system, he fell downhill backwards. It would have been serious if the pricker and rose bushes hadn’t cushioned his fall. As it was it took him a while to get back up, but he wasn’t hurt. He’s trying to understand exactly what happened and how he can avoid it in the future.
Hopefully he will get more pictures today, and that he won’t fall again.

Oh no on the fall. So glad to hear he wasn’t hurt.
Thanks, we are too.
I was going to wait to comment but reading about Andy’s fall.. so glad he did not have serious injury.
Thanks, we are too.
tell him to watch out for day 4 after the fall. today is day four after mine and i have bruises and places i had no idea i had until today including a knot on the side of my head.
Hope all is well with him today and no more falls. it is good to figure out what happened to avoid it happening again… hope the trees do well. so sad when i see evidence of that fire
He wasn’t hurting today, and he is being careful.
Yes, we’re glad the fall was not serious.
Thanks, we are too.
Prickers and rosebushes don’t sound like a very cushy landing spot but at least they broke the fall, Hope Andy doesn’t have too many scratches or bruises. We have never seen a plum tree so we are excited to see how yours do.
He seems to be fine, thank goodness.
Oh MY! I hope he can figure out the reason. And am so glad he was not more seriously hurt! But landing on prickers and thorns must not be any fun!
He hasn’t been taking his usual walks and thinks he needs to get back in shape. Hopefully that will help.
As I write this, I’m hoping Andy’s practicing some healing self-care. This may sound silly, but I wonder if they don’t make regular shoes with cleats for improved traction.
He seems fine now, thank goodness.
Hope they do well for you. It is definitely a lot of work.
They take several years to produce fruit, so there’s no guarantee. But he’s happy trying.
got to check and recheck ones balance when doing something that requires balance – like when building something – measure twice, cut once
Yes, he’s going to be more careful. 🙂
