When Andy got home yesterday he said,
It’s officially windy!
If he hadn’t grabbed one of the posts to the house he would have been blown over.
This picture from last month and a cropped version shows what happened.
The picture is taken from the west, and the wind was blowing from the northwest. It was too strong for Andy to open the west door, so he went out the east door. The house sheltered him from the wind until he came to the gap between the house and the Jeep. He had to hold on to that support pole to keep from being blown over.
Yes, it was officially windy.

when we have hurricane winds, THEY say stay inside, anything over 50 to 60 can blow us down.. so glad he is ok. about that ladder. does that mean he was on the roof on a day it was officially windy?
No, the ladder is there all the time. Carefully tied down so it doesn’t blow away.
I wondered about the ladder, too…it must have been some wind…which we have some here that are really strong, but not strong enough to blow us down. Thank goodness.
We have a lot of wind around here. It’s worse up there than it was before the 2011 fire burned all the trees.
We have had a lot of big winds in Kansas for the past couple of months. Sometimes it is very difficult to walk into it when walking the dogs. Tell Andy to be careful – can’t have him falling
He is trying to be careful. Please take care of yourself and the pups, too!
Wow, that’s crazy! I hope Andy wasn’t trying to scale that ladder in those conditions?
No, he never goes on the roof if there’s any wind.
Oh my GOSH!! I know I have had the car door blow shut on me, but nothing like this!
He wasn’t expecting it so he hadn’t braced himself.
Dang, no kidding, that’s pretty darn windy!
Yes, and it’s not usual.
But who took the pictures?
He took the picture of the house about a month ago. I pulled it up, and cropped it, so you could see what happened.
Wow, that must have been some wind. Glad it didn’t blow him over.
Thanks. 🙂
