We Did Get Rain

So the weather report was correct there. But they didn’t mention the hail.

The temperature was above freezing, so it melted fast after it stopped.

Andy had some activity on the screen in his Jeep. He sent this email at 1:44.

A really strange thing happened today. when I was driving at the junction of road 268 and 36 all the useless stuff my screen disappeared and a message appeared saying that a tornado watch had been declared for Sandoval county!!! This raises all sorts of questions!

Fortunately he wasn’t affected by that. And on the drive home he received a flood alert, which again didn’t affect him. All in all an interesting day weather-wise.

Hail almost always melts so fast when we have it.

    Happy Mother’s Day!

  2. MadSnapper says:

that would terrify me to be on the road and get both of those messages. you are right, a bad day for weather in your part of the world.. I just love all the views of that basket ball court.. you have your window on the world to watch, just like we do… I am thankful for Windows. Happy Mothers day

  3. I wonder if the solar storm was effecting his communication system. The weather station here said that could happen.

    • Jean says:

I was watching for problems with the communication system, but we’re sure the Sandoval County system was working fine. They were trying to send out the alerts and the messages went away when Andy punched Okay.

  4. Ginny Hartzler says:

What a frightening day! And the hail is so abundant that it looks like snow!

  5. Linda Sand says:

Our county is huge so what the weather is dong in one part may have nothing to do with what is happening in another part. That’s why we watch NOAA radar when storms are predicted for our county.

  6. The OP Pack says:

We hope the hail didn’t do any damage. And thank goodness no tornado and no flooding.

We too wondered if it had anything to do with the solar storm.

  7. Myra Guca says:

I never heard of tornados in New Mexico. Then again, given all this weird weather, I suppose anything’s possible. So glad y’all are safe!

  8. Ann Thompson says:

Oh my, that’s a lot of hail.
Amazing what vehicles can do these days. Glad none of those weather conditions affected Andy

  9. That hail sure looks like it snowed. That’s some strange weather alerts!

    • Jean says:

It looked like snow at first. I don’t know if Andy’s weather alerts were unusual or just that he never received any until he got the new Jeep.
