PS – When I was but 10 (11?), my father brought home 2 ducklings. Much to mother’s dismay, they lived in a big cardboard box in the eating nook (too small to be considered a dining room). Later that summer, I returned home from camp to discover “Jack” and “Jill” had mysteriously disappeared … gone to live in the Valley. Supposedly, lol.
