Speaking of Attention…

One of the most critical skills in life—–and yet never taught in school—–is choosing where to direct your attention.
—James Clear

Austin Kleon in Keep Going says,

Your attention is one of the most valuable things you possess, which is why everyone wants to steal it from you. First you must protect it, and then you must point it in the right direction.

As they say in the movies, “Careful where you point that thing!”

And, thanks to Torben and Kaitlin:

If you ever feel the need for more attention in your life, just get a couple of pups and try eating a piece of toast on the couch.

Oh that picture just makes me laugh. That is so true too. Dogs pay great attention to you when you have something to eat that you just might share with them.

Dogs DO seem to have very heightened attention at certain times! I have really never thought of the idea of where and how we direct our attention. Something for me to ponder today!

Those two pups are very attentive. The two here come alive whenever the refrigerator door opens. And a taste of toast would be quite appealing to them too.

Precious image! We know that one!
In all seriousness, choosing on what to focus is becoming more and difficult. So much noise and distractions — or, perhaps just an effect of aging.
