The batteries seem to be working fine. Andy is still checking the system, and he won’t turn the power on to the house and greenhouse until we get enough sun to fully charge the batteries.
The greenhouse needs power to operate the exhaust fans. Without them the temperature has ranged from over 50° to 130° The dead-looking avocado plant clearly thought the highs were too much. But the little tomato plants taking over the greenhouse didn’t seem to mind.

The tomatoes look happy enough.

Beautiful greenhouse, I wouldn’t mind that, especially in the winter.

I agree, that is such a nice greenhouse!

Poor avocado tree! Wow, when you talked about batteries, you weren’t kidding! You guys are super smart, and I think the average person would be totally confused by all these huge batteries and how to hook them up and run them. I hope the avocado is the only thing that died!
The tomatoes are the ones we care about most. The nasturtiums also seem to have survived.
I wish I could have a greenhouse in the yard. I might actually be able to get some veggies instead of having the squirrels, rabbits, and raccoons steal them all. But sadly that silly home owners association has its rules:(
That’s too bad. We had to go to a greenhouse because of all the critters. We were happy to share, but they didn’t understand that concept. 🙂
My goodness but those battery packs look complicated! I’m happy for your tomato plants, however.
Thanks.
That avocado doesn’t look happy at alll but those tomatoes sure do
🙂
Those tomatoes are thriving! Imagine how wonderful it will be when the batteries are doing their job. Whoohoo! I could never figure them out–lol!
Kaitlin and Torben are having them installed now while Andy is still around. 🙂
That is very interesting about the batteries. Hope it all works out. Sorry about the avocado plant.
It may not be completely dead. We’r happy it didn’t wipe out the tomatoes.
finally reading blogs – the greenhouse is the bonus and the “fruits” of it keep you happy….
It’s nice to have the tomatoes even when Andy doesn’t have time to spend in the greenhouse.
