  5. I used to think kids these days get a lot more stuff than we did back in the 40s and 50s, but I happened on some photos of our trees on Christmas morning back when I was a kids and found out we got just as many gifts…just not the expensive kind that are on the lists today.

      My mother always had a lot of gifts for us when we were young. I remember Christmas being magical, but I don’t remember asking for things.

    Not like the good old days at all. I remember going through the Sears Christmas catalog and writing my list for Santa.

    We’ve become so accustomed to instant gratification. Even at 74, I dislike having to wait.
