Rose was right yesterday, of course,
Animals may not hate, but some fight to death over who gets to mate with the females..dogs will fight just to establish who is dominate, and there is more but too much to type on phone with.
Not all pups are as kind and patient as Sola,
and Toby,
So how can I, an ex-science major, justify some of my overly romantic visions? That’s easy, I don’t pretend they’re true. I’m with Ashleigh Brilliant,
I have given up my search for truth. Now I’m looking for a good fantasy.
I spend a lot of time reading and trying to understand what’s going on in the world. To keep from getting depressed I balance that time with uplifting stories — often true, but sometimes idealized. Stories that keep me strong, happy, hopefully more kind and loving, and engaged in life. As Merle Shain wrote,
The answer doesn’t lie in learning how to protect ourselves from life—it lies in learning how to become strong enough to let a bit more of it in.
Amen to that.

But … animals act on instinct not by planning like humans. On the other hand … … …
God bless.
Humans may not plan/think rationally as much as they believe.
even dogs have their bad moments, as do all living beings. it is how we live each day and how we keep getting up that matters, and trying to help others that matters
Amen to that!
…romanticizing things make us feel warm and fuzzy.
Yes, and I think it’s important to experience those feelings.
I have been doing exactly what you are doing. I cannot discuss my tv viewing habits with my siblings, for example. I have been watching the original Cheers, which they do not understand. But to me, it is a much needed link to a time in my life when people hung out with other people. It’s funny. Sam and Diane are charming, if flawed. And I love Ted Danson. This interest will pass quickly and I will find something else to entertain myself. I also watch YouTube videos of cats and dogs. Rosa can watch all the animals stalking and killing that she wants, but it doesn’t mean that she was right (IMHO).
Years ago I used to watch the Andy Griffith Show, about the kind, simple life in Mayberry. It was hanging out with characters I loved and shared values withs.
Balance in life is sometimes difficult but like you, I do things to keep my mind active and thinking about good. Sadly, I do not have any pets, but my daughters have dogs. Each of them, Lucy, Remi, Jake, and Taz all have their moments. They are all loving, but yet they are territorial when it comes to their favorite toys.
I love dogs and have never had one. I get my doggie fixes on the internet and they keep me happy.
As a life-long daydreamer, I love this post.
Balance and moderation are somethings I need to embrace more seriously.

It was hard to see the abuse on the little black Den. But the goldens seem to understand and showed compassion and patience so in the end it was heart warming to see them sleeping together.
That Golden was amazing. π
But it is true with those in the videos.
Yes. See tomorrow’s post.
i love your comment at the end. You are so very perceptive! Well, yes, of course there are things that separate us from the animals. I love the Retrievers, and always think they are the most like humans. They seem to have so many more emotions!
Thank you! Some dogs have amazing personalities. Huskies do too, but for a different reason.
So cute and adorable they are!
Yes. π
Just like with humans, you can’t be everyone’s cup of tea. I think dogs do have better instincts than we do sometimes.
I think the dogs in the two videos are exceptional, impressive.
