The boss in the cartoon says you can fool some of the people some of the time.
Abraham Lincoln’s quote was,
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
And Bret Maverick, in the 1957-1962 TV series Maverick, added,
And my pappy says those are very good odds!
That’s too true, but it made me laugh and I still remember it.

this fits with my email spam this morning, I had 30 emails all spam, all looked realistic and some of them I had to check them out they were so real.
that is what spam is, just what Lincoln said… I never click on a link, even the ones that I know are real. just go to the website
That’s smart!
I didn’t remember that abbreviated quote we usually hear was from Lincoln! I like his even better, but I suppose it is longer and harder to remember so it got shortened–lol! 😉
🙂

I’m sure there were scammers and cheats even before capitalism.
My son is a salesman – I am going to send this to him!
🙂
I remember Lincoln’s quote. I try to keep myself from being fooled, but there are way to many on social media trying to fool us all. YIKES…we all have to be careful. Happy Sunday
Yes, we have to be careful. 🙂
I remember this quote well, and it is true. But now, way too many people are fooling others.
On the other hand, now we have more ways of checking than we did in the snake-oil days.
haha
🙂
Having worked in Sales (both network TV and mortuary) I still cast a wary eye their direction. Unfortunately, there’s few riches for the honest.
Yes. 🙁
A very wise man said that. And today especially it seems like there are way too many people trying to fool others and too many who sadly do get fooled.
I agree with that!
Yes, that’s totally true today!
Unfortunately. 🙁
Yes, those are indeed very good odds.
I always think if people worked as hard at a real job as they do at scamming people, it would be amazing at what could be achieved.
