Our internet and phone service were down again for most of the day yesterday, from about 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. That’s better than last time when it was out until after midnight, but clearly it was way too soon to happen again.
Apparently the problem is when they repaired it last time the tracer wire that was supposed to tell people where the cable was got separated from the cable itself. So even though the construction workers were following the right protocol, they severed the cable again.
The county is planning to put a Starlink internet source at the downtown park for residents to use if/when this happens again.
Anyway, it’s great to have internet and phone service again!

this is so scary and crazy, and bad that it affects so many. occasionally we have that happen, but its usually just one street at a time. bob once cut the one that went to our street. I had to call and fess up, the came same day and repaired in just and hour, not long like yours

Oh wow, that’s a long time without internet or phone. Nice that they will put in place for people to go to have access but not very convenient to have to go somewhere when you want to use the internet.
They do start the repair work right away, but it’s a tedious process.

So sorry to hear that. We have had power outages 2 times recently. However our cell phones still worked.
That’s the interesting thing, neither our land line or cell phones work when that happens.
It sure is tough to do without our modern tech these days. I’m glad you got your service back.
