I Love Watching Husky Videos, But…

this is why I would never have one:

Nope, they deserve better owners than the likes of me. πŸ™‚

(I would love to hear what The Op Pack thinks.)

    …this is apparent!

I remember the Thundering Herd’s story of his first husky. The one who would move the wood pile so she could climb over the fence, escape and wander the neighborhood, come home and put the pile back so he never knew she was out. Until he was walking her one day and someone commented that she came over all the time. Something like that…

Delightful dogs and fun to watch in videos but definitely not for me.

I am thinking Husky’s were meant to pull sleds and live in the great outdoors. its not only Huskys, our first dog Max, was the child of a pit bull and his mama was the best escape artist ever..

  5. Shug says:

Husky’s are such beautiful dogs, but perhaps not meant to be indoors or locked in. LOL. can you imagine coming home to find your home a mess?

  6. Always love watching and listening to husky’s but would never own one because they are high maintenance. Gotta match the breed to the owner’s commitment.

  7. More huskies.

    God bless.

Well, huskies are sure not a dog for anyone over THIRTY!!! The lady next door has one, and he is ALWASY escaping. We often see him running down the street, shortly his owners wildly running around looking for him. One dog across the street (don’t know if it was a Husky but kind of looked like it) broke through the screen of the living room window screen. BROKE. Then chased after a dog that the lady next door was walking on a leash. Would not let go or stop. One neighbor ran out with a blanket. The poor attacked dog was so traumatized that the owner thinks she may have to put him down. He is fearful and miserable all the time since this happened.

    Oh, no no nooooo!
Now I understand the frequency of “lost Huskey” alerts I see on our community’s Facebook page. Before, I wrongly assumed the ‘pawrents’ were simply negligent.

Their leaping and climbing ability is simply amazing! I never knew this about Huskies.

I could write a book with comments on this video. A lot of what he says is very true about huskies. They ARE smart, strong-willed, escape artists, silly, definitely not watchdogs. Yes they shed a LOT, and yes, it IS year round. But they have amazing personalities and with the right training they make awesome pets. The two we have now are talkers, but except for Lightning we have never had a barker. If we have left them home alone for a few hours, we get a good calldown from them when we return. We have had 7 huskies and they all had pack bonds. We saw in full force separation anxiety in Timber when we lost Lightning. He was so confused and lonely even though he still had Misty. Huskies are not for everyone. Training is key and making them understand from the very beginning that YOU are the pack leader, not them. Our first husky Dakota tried to be the boss and could be very destructive. Once I cnvinced my husband that we needed to use a crate for her when she was home alone, life changed for the better. I could go on and on about the joy all of our huskies, even Dakota, have brought my husband and me. It makes us very sad to realize that Misty and Timber are the last ones we will be able to enjoy due to our age. for the right person, a husky makes a great friend. enough babble from me

I was hoping you would comment. I know yours have always been well-behaved and that you get the credit for that. We all know they have wonderful personalities.
