So Why Do We Like Rain?

The drought, of course. The little rain we had from May 27 to June 3 meant we went from extreme drought down to severe drought. (Pictures from the U.S.Drought Monitor.)

We had a bit more rain last Wednesday, June 4, but it has been drying out since then.

No sense worrying about it. It will be what it will be, but we do love rain!

  1. Praying for you.

    God bless.

  2. Ann says:

With conditions like that I can see how rain would be a welcome sight.

  3. I really hope you get some more rain! 🙂

  4. tomthebackroadstraveller says:

    …rain beats draught any day!

  5. MadSnapper says:

we are also in severe drought, and just 50 miles south of us is extreme drought. the 4 inches we got over 3 days is long gone because the heat has dried it all up. it did make the grass grow and grow fast and now I have had to contact the man to see if he will come cut it. the one who cut it free 3 weeks ago. when he cut it was just sparse weeds, now its high grass, much harder to cut.

  6. Shug says:

If only I could send you some of our rain. we have had over 4 inches this week and it has been a rainy season all Spring. I’ll not complain though, because I know August is coming..

  7. Praying you get the rain you need.

  8. I know that we could certainly use some rain.

  9. Christine says:

Saves me a lot of watering

  10. Ginny Hartzler says:

We have just gotten out of a drought. Not fun!

  11. Bruce Taylor says:

Our forecast today says a chance of thundershowers. But that time period seems to have passed with no sign of rain. By the way, the name of your town came up in one of my crosswords today!

  12. The OP Pack says:

We finally got a sunny day with no rain, but we know it is good to have the rain. Our summers are so hot and dry. The grass is lush and green now and the flowers are blooming. Our water bills go very high in July and August, and sometimes even September. The price we pay to keep things green.

  13. I will do a rain dance for you!

  14. Rain is sure necessary, we don’t like the droughts!

  15. Myra Guca says:

I can smell your piney air!
Laughing at Sandra’s comment b/c last night our weatherman’s FB post read, “Whoever’s doing a rain dance, I hope you break a leg. Sincerely, Alabama.”
