Wow!

Kaitlin sent this around 4:40 their time yesterday afternoon.

And Tempi included this picture of herself in her post about the heat,

That is unusual heat for Massachusetts, and AccuWeather predicted cooler temperatures starting this afternoon:

Thank goodness!

Our reprieve started yesterday. We had some rain and the temperature dropped to the low sixties in the afternoon. This was the picture from my bedroom window about 6 pm.

How are things where you are? Fingers crossed for us all.

Here in the Waikato, New Zealand it’s “winter”.

We have had some cold starts like a minus in front of a single digit

Mornings are either heavy fog, raining, or a bad frost.

    All care northern hemisphere folks

wow! I wish our heat would drop like that, we will get those temps, in Dec. that is unbelievable for the NE… I am thinking they might not have AC in the house. we are a lot hotter than we normally are this time of the year

  3. Ann Thompson says:

Wow, that’s really hot. It’s been hot here too but in the 90’s. It’s supposed to be a bit cooler today but still in the 80’s. I think we have rain in our forecast later in the week

…it’s hot here and some rain would be welcomed.

  5. Our weather pattern looks similar to this except we cooled down yesterday. It is currently raining.

  6. Our heat dropped yesterday. Such a relief!

Dog Days of summer for sure. Here, it has been 100. But supposed to rain each day for a week, so that should help. I can’t imagine being a cat or dog in this heat.

  8. Bruce Taylor says:

Middle 80’s here in Arizona but headed back into the 90’s for a few days before the monsoon is predictedd to bring rain at the beginning of July.

  9. DB Stewart says:

Woah. Terribly hot. Hope the system moves on sooner than expected.

  10. Yes, it’s just been stupid hot!

That’s sure surprising to read! Poor pups!
We’re sitting only mid-90’s, but the humidity’s the real beast. Learning the hard way, heat sickness is real.

  12. I hope all our temps lower – it is miserable.

We had a two-day heat wave followed by rain, lovely rain for about a week. Some of it heavy some of it more like a “soft” day. I enjoy watching the rain. Maybe because I don’t have to go out in it? We have a tall, skinny tree just off our balcony and it really whips around in the winds that have been coming with the rain. Not umbrella weather, I think.

Having been born in Massachusetts and having lived there for 37 years, I must admit I never remember it being that hot there, especially in June. July could be bad, but maybe 103, 104. Glad the pups have good shade for cooling.
