To parts of the U.S., at least. The Weather Channel yesterday wrote,
The first full week of meteorological winter is here, living up to its name.
I was looking to see what the weather was like because Kaitlin, Torben, and the pups were driving home from seeing Torben’s family in Ann Arbor, MI. They were trying to avoid being stranded by a snow storm.
It turned out fine. Yesterday afternoon I received an email with the subject line,
Getting closer!
With this picture attached.

They were home a couple of hours later.
I wasn’t worried, but I was watching. And happy when they were safely home.
December 2, 2025
,,,we have a White Christmas this morning.
Nice! 🙂
So thankful they made it home safely and not stranded in a snow storm. You sound much like me..I worry about my kiddos who are on the road with their jobs each day. I do a lot of praying for their safety.
We want to know they are safe and happy. 🙂
Glad they are home safe and sound. It’s 3F here this morning. Brrr!
That’s too cold! 🙂
I think today they would needed to worry as it looks like bad weather in the area. But, no need to worry, they are home!
Yes! Safe and warm. 🙂
We got so lucky driving back!!! The snow is beautiful when sitting at home looking out the windows!
Thank you for sending me the picture. lt always warms my heart. 🙂
so glad you are home safe and sound, that was a big bad nasty storm
I love those state “Welcome” signs! Yes, I always whisper a little prayer when any of my loved ones is on the road.
That sign always warms my heart when Kaitlin sends it. 🙂
I don’t think parents ever stop being concerned about their “children” though they may not worry as much as they used to. BTW, regarding my comment yesterday, I did some research and found to my amazement that there are THREE different starting dates for winter, depending on Astronomical, Meteorological, or Solar (Celtic) seasons. I should never have tried to correct a physicist! ):^(
🙂
Glad they are safe.
🙂
We will always worry about the kids. They did get some snow.
🙂
Always nice to know they have arrived at their destination safely
🙂
I love texting, just for things like this. when Dan and Michelle come, they text Leaving now and I know when to look for them and pray for them on the interstate with all the crazy tourist here. and when they leave I get the text, home safe… what a relief
I know. That means so much. 🙂
So glad to hear that they had a safe ride home.
Thanks. 🙂
