As I’ve said before, Andy and I don’t have to go looking for challenges to keep us on our toes and learning new things. They keep coming to us. What about you? Too little challenges/excitement, too much, or about the right amount?
Since it’s New Year’s Eve — a time to look back– I thought I’d look to see what I’ve done so far in blogging. This is my 5222nd post. I started posting twice a week in May, 2007, and switched to daily in August, 2013. Like plugging along with baby steps in Spanish, it adds up.
Happy New’s Year Eve!
December 31, 2025

Yay for blogging! Excellent!
🙂
That last caption by Hobbes is so accurate, “The problem with new experiences, is that they’re so rarely the ones you choose.” Truth.
Have a Happy New Year.
🙂
…Calvin and Hobbes is a great way the end the year, thanks Jean. Be warm, well and merry in 2026.
You too!
This is what so much of my life was once like. I usually forgot to look before I leaped! See you next year!
🙂
5567 is the number I saw for post on MadSnapper this morning when I was working on a new post.. as for the cartoon, its just like my life and it is not only my life at this age, but has also been like this many times in the past. Fall off the cliff, get back up climb to the top and fall off again.
I think other than 2020, this year is the only fall off the cliff that we are not back from yet. we are better than we were the beginning of this year and hoping and praying each day will get better in 2026
Happy New Year to you and Andy.
I sure hope 2026 is better for you! You have been through so much.
congratulations on all your post.. Although I am new to your blog I’ve enjoyed every single post. Hasn’t New Year
Thank you. 🙂
I rarely leap without a lot of looking. My newest leap is to give in and buy a walker. I am amazed at how much more mobile I am while using it. I feel good!
Yes, walkers are amazing when we need them.
Happy New Year from all of us!
Thank you! 🙂
I wonder if Calvin and Hobbes aren’t who Simon and Garfunkle were referring to when they wrote Sound of Silence (“The words of the prophets …”)
Personally, I’d rather have less challenges thrown our way in 2026.
Happy New Year!
Fingers crossed!
It is so true that lots of our new experiences are ones we do not choose. Especially as we get older!
Amen to that!
950 days! Awesome.
Happy New Year! Sandie
Thank you!
950 days is quite a streak.
Time goes zipping by!
Just checked mine. I’m at 5,092 posts but I don’t think I started until a year after you. And I haven’t been as consistent as you. Keep swimming, as I saw on Gentle John’s post today. <Feliz ano nuevo
I appreciate and enjoy your posts.
950 days!!! Wow! That’s wonderful! I love Calvin and Hobbes, thank you so much for all your posts. Happy New Year to you.
Thank you!
