There are two water systems for the solar heating system — the inside one that heats the floors and the outside one that gets the heat from the solar panels. They are thermally connected by heat exchangers inside the drain back tanks.
Yesterday Peter declared the inside system leak-free, and with any luck he will declare the outside system leak-free today. At any rate Andy can start testing to see if the project works.
People keep saying, “What could possibly go wrong?” In fact all sorts of things — it’s a complicated project.
Wish us luck. We will keep you posted.

All the very best. It will be a pioneering work that can be emulated by other remotely located residences.
Unfortunately it’s a very expensive project. Most people would opt for something with a lower price tag. It is fun, though.
best of luck monk and andy!
such long hard work.
but worth it in the end. and… well… all during really.
think of the wonderful challenging days it has brought! xo
Yes, if it works Andy will be very pleased with it.
Tom liked this post. I asked did he want to make a comment. He said “It’s pretty”.
I understand what he means. I think it’s fascinating.
wow, way above my head, but if it all works for Andy and you – then it is understandable on a different level 🙂
I figured most people wouldn’t care about the details. But even so, I think the pictures are interesting, and they do show it’s a complicated thing.
