The last paragraph of “clear as mud” wasn’t quite right. We went into Afghanistan to fight terrorists, but the excuse for going into Iraq was to stop Saddam from using weapons of mass destruction. Bush and the neocons really wanted to replace him with a vibrant democracy so our values would spread through the Middle East. Instead we destabilized the whole region.
My concerns are about the availability of a successor government, alliances and the targeting of women and children (which used to be why terrorists were condemned; but now we just use the label and don’t ask what it means).
As a country only peripherally involved, we are just amused! This however is more explanatory! http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-09-24/case-you-are-still-confused-what-going-middle-east
I liked it better when Obama was saying, “Don’t do anything stupid.”
As I point out to BHB below, the last paragraph of “Clear as mud” isn’t quite right.
Rummuser, thanks for the link – Wow!
I agree with Seth.
Yes, it’s easy to make fun of what’s going on. I especially liked Seth’s nonverbals. 🙂
Definitely love the non-verbals!!!
Yes, I agree with Seth.
How can a video be so funny yet upsetting & scary.
Yes Rummuser, your link “Clear as mud” explains it all. 😀

wow.
spot on seth.
especially about congress.
humor and truth. what a mix.
I agree — the part about Congress was right on. If you want to keep your office, don’t take a stand. Just sit back and criticize. He nailed that one!
Mostly.

Yes, getting a good government in is the big problem. And getting rid of bad guys sometimes mean even worse ones take over.
