Rummuser’s recent post reminds me of the T-shirt I wore years ago when our organization was about to downsize. It said,
Life is uncertain so eat dessert first.
Unfortunately Qannik over at The Thundering Herd is on a diet and can’t do that. So he smells the flowers instead.
That works too!

it’s so hard when they have to go on a diet. it’s not like you can sit down and explain to them that … ‘this is for your own good… so you will live longer and feel better!’
all they know is… not as many treats… and ‘i’m hungry!!!!’
my little friend papito is on a constant diet. it seem dachshunds get chubby easily!
she’s found that he loves green beans (suggested by the vet) and carrots!
love that logo for a t-shirt!
Oh Tammy! I just had to add this because I think you will get a kick out of it.
A couple of years ago, Blue was FAT. Doc said to cut back on his food and give him green beans to help fill him up.
The first time Blue tasted them he rolled them around in his mouth for a moment and then just opened it wide and let them all drop of the floor. (Of course Hattie , my dachshund rushed under him and gobbled them quickly up!) But I had to laugh, just like most kids with vegetables! LOL!
Qannik is on a green bean diet — half his food is green beans to let him eat as much as usual but get only about half the calories.
It sounds as if that doesn’t work for Blue!
My inner Guru says, why either or? Use both.
What does your doctor say? 😉
That’s part of my problem! LOL!
I like to eat dessert. Sometimes entirely skipping the meal.
Hmm, a bowl of ice cream does sound good for dinner!
😉
I used to have a bad sweet tooth, but for some reason it eventually went away. I must say, life is easier without it!
I believe in your tee shirt! When I need to watch my calories, I don’t curtail dessert very much 🙂
As you well know, there are no guarantees in life, so we need to enjoy what we have while we still have it!
yup!
that’s what i do with green beans too! LOLOL !!! GO BLUE!!!
Do you like any vegetables? As I recall, you do like salads, and greens are super healthy.
My doctor, as probably remember from my older posts is also a dear friend. He says, that I am now living on “Bonus” time and might as well have fun while I can. He is an old fashioned GP who believes that human beings were not engineered to live to suffer and die in old age as they now do.
It sounds as if you’re no longer on a special diet. That’s great!
Andy and I are on bonus time too, and we’re making the most of it. 🙂
