Time Does Fly

How did it get to be November already? We ask that kind of question a lot. Does time go zipping by for you, too?

  1. Happy November — I’m with you, I’ve no idea how it got here so fast, and before we both know it, it’ll be Christmas and onto 2016. It never went this fast when we were kids, did it? I wish I could slow it down….

    me too!

this last few weeks, all my organisations [that close for summer recess] talking about our last Xmasy sort of meeting. Most of them will be in late Nov or early Dec

even my family talking about who is coming from which overseas country for Xmas…

We don’t celebrate Christmas much — it’s always been a low-key affair, even when Kaitlin was young. I’m definitely a minimalist when it comes to holidays.

    I wish that it would!

all day last sunday i thought it was monday!
    good grief.
i’ve heard of losing track of time… but to lose a whole day?
some days speed by for me. and certain months too i guess.
others seem to take their sweet time. i like those the best!

  5. It’s brutal. I don’t know if I can face yet another hectic Christmas season! But of course, I will…given the alternative! Dare I say, “Merry….” Too early? Sorry!

    • Jean says:

I’ve never got into the Christmas rush. Even when Kaitlin was little and we had a lot of her cousins to buy for, I had all the presents bought and wrapped before Thanksgiving. We shipped them off and had a leisurely December and a peaceful Christmas.

It sure does [fly]. Concorde has nothing on time. Last year I was tempted – rather than taking down Christmas decorations to keep them in place till next time. It hardly seemed worth [the time].

And then, of course, you have siblings or your own children. I look at my sisters, my brother, my son and remember them all tiny as if it were yesterday. That’s when I know it won’t be long and I’ll be dead. Which I don’t look forward to but at least time won’t matter then. Time – a matter totally lost on the dead.

    Eternal greetings, Jean,
    Ursula

Time does seem to zip by very fast. I assume that’s because I’m having such an enjoyable and productive life that I seldom get bored enough to think the time is dragging.

    • Jean says:

That’s the secret, staying engaged in life. I’d much rather be an adult than a kid because I have more choice about how to use my time.

  8. Cindi says:

I’m having a hard time myself.
I think it’s bedtime when I get home at 6, it’s so dark out!
I just can’t seem to get anything done and then it’s the next day!
I’m having an awful time keeping up with blogging.
    Sigh.
    Yes, time flies.
