Change His Mind? Don’t Count on It.

In addition to looking into suspected Russian meddling with the election, the House and Senate intelligence committees have been investigating Trump’s charges that Trump Tower was wiretapped during the election campaign.

This week the bipartisan leaders of those committees said they’ve found no evidence that Trump Tower was the target of U.S. government surveillance.

As for Mr. Trump’s accusation, White House spokesman Sean Spicer says “he stands by it.” Mr. Trump would be wiser to say he fired the tweet in anger and walk it back. An apology can be good for the soul—and a Presidency.

Walk it back just because there’s no indication American intelligence surveilled him? Fat chance. Instead Trump now says it was British intelligence that did the did the surveillance.

President Donald Trump on Friday stuck to his unsubstantiated claim that he was wiretapped by his predecessor and brushed off tensions his White House ignited with the U.K. by citing a media report alleging British intelligence was involved.

Andy keeps saying Trump has a lot to learn. I thought maybe he would change his tactics, but I’m seriously wondering now. Trump himself says he hasn’t changed since he was a boy, and his boyhood friends say he had a reputation for saying anything that popped into his head and would stick with his story, no matter what other people said: Confident. Incorrigible. Bully: Little Donny was a lot like candidate Donald Trump

So much for all he was going to accomplish during his first 100 days. Focusing is not his strong suit.

  1. A bully never apologizes. If he did, he would lose face, and that is unacceptable to his fragile ego. Taking responsibility for his own errors is not in his play book. This is not a fun time for us, as we stand by and watch.
