Making Plans II

So why “waste” time making plans you may never use? It’s not a waste of time if it brings us joy. My brain is my favorite toy.

Having a relaxed body and a playful mind is an invaluable resource state to have at one’s disposal at any time, but especially when facing big life changes.

Commitment and practice — no one ever said the practice can’t be fun.

  1. I love playing around with my art-modes…sometimes things don’t work, or I have to find a solution so it does appear to work!

What I also love doing, and most of you think it’s just a day away from the ranch…but it usually has an overtone of “what-if?” And will I see it “real-time” or in my “mind’s eye” – I usually come home with way more solutions than when I locked the door on the way out…

Right now, besides actually making art, I’m working on how to “present” me to the art community. What form; words; objects? So there are 1/2 sheets of A4 paper with notes on them…at some point those “thoughts” will be on something tangible…

that’s the cutest little brain. πŸ™‚

I agree that playing with your brain is fun. I enjoyed planning routes with stops we might choose to make when we were living the RV lifestyle. And I enjoyed planning operating details of model railroads we designed. (For those interested, check out http://www.sandsys.org/modelrr/modelbuilt/crt/)

      That’s impressive!

I used to like planning trips, but we don’t like to travel anymore, so I haven’t done it in a long time. If we get an appointment at the Mayo Clinic I’ll have to make some arrangements, of course — hopefully there won’t be delays that mess up the appointment, but I’m guessing that problem has been met and solved before.

    A playful mind.
I’m trying to keep my mind in playful mode.
    In creative thought.
It’s amazing how when you change the focus, it can help bring you calm.
I love how you view your brain as a toy.

    Love the illustration.

      One of my mantras is

The quality of our lives depends on how we focus our energy and our attention,

but that sounds stuffy compared to “a relaxed body and a playful mind.” πŸ™‚

I think a playful mind is one of the secrets of maintaining a sound one into old age.

    I wish that I had a brain!
