    EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.
    🙁

  2. definitely but not usually related to snow – rather to “it must be summer, it has not rained heavily or cold winds from the south” everyone you meet has decided to get out their summer duds! Then a week along, everyone you meet are back with layers….

I remember when we were astounded to get snow in Minnesota in early April. Now it’s becoming more common to get snow in late April. Will we we eventually be getting snow in the summer?

    • Jean says:

That’s interesting! The first year we were here we had two feet of snow the first week of April. That much was unusual, but we also regularly had snow flurries the first week in June — we haven’t seen anything like that recently. Weather is fascinating!

autumn used to be my favorite season. but we haven’t really had ‘an autumn season’ in years now! Spring has become really beautiful though.
last year our spring months were absolutely wonderful here before the heat of the summer set in! hoping for the same this year. you just don’t know anymore!

In Ithaca it was the opposite — no spring but beautiful autumns. It went almost immediately from cold, gray winters to hot and humid summers. But it’s those glorious autumns that stick in my mind.

Yep, every year. Mother natures always throws in those tease days where she gives you a bit of spring and then shoves you right back into winter.

    • Jean says:

On the other hand, the tease days remind us winter won’t last forever. And they do give us a bit of a break — they’re better than nothing!

Well, we pups hope winter sticks around for a while, but Mom says she keeps dreaming of green grass and pretty flowers:)

Yes, I’m always seeing signs that spring is just round the corner, and then the weather turns nasty and I have to admit winter is still lingering on. But there’s more and more daylight, which really lifts my spirits.

We go grocery shopping every other late afternoon/early evening, so we notice that the days are getting longer. It’s fun to watch.
