Here are the beets I had for a salad last night:
And here are some of the radish greens I had a week ago:
Andy is thinning the beets and radishes I planted December 31st — I purposely planted them thickly so we could harvest the greens.
The tomatoes and the corn are still hanging in there in spite of the cold weather. Here are pictures he took last Saturday:
The corn does seem to be telling us something about the low angle of the sun:
February 8, 2020
Everything looks great.
It’s fun to watch.
Love the update on the corn and others. Do you ever plan on transplanting things outside the greenhouse when the weather is better to extend the growing season, or would the wild animal get them?
The animals would get them right away.
beautiful! fresh greens always look so healthy.
did they taste good?
I love the beet greens, and the radish leaves are edible and nutritious, but I don’t like them as much as the beets. I hadn’t thought of eating them (the radish greens) until someone pointed out they’re nutritious. I do try to eat some greens every day.
In the past we always cooked beet greens, but I like them much better when they’re small and raw.
That tomato plant looks so healthy!
We’re amazed that it’s doing so well considering the weather. Fingers crossed. We don’t take things for granted.
well, that all looks great and of course the now edible side of things, even better.
corn growth is showing where the sun is arriving, maybe not so much from the side windows. But whatever rocks their boat, and they get on with growing taller and producing their cobs…
We don’t take anything for granted. It’s fun to watch and especially fun when we can actually harvest something. 🙂
It will be interesting to see what the corn does as the sun gets higher in the sky.
I’m green with envy!
I have to admit, I do like those salad greens!
Yummy
And free of any chemicals!
😀
Yes, that’s important. I buy organic greens.
