Andy has been clearing the path to the top of our land, including this big tree that was in the way.
Here is the view of the house, greenhouse, and shed from partway up the path:
And here is the view from just past the top of our land. The stake marks our northwest boundary.

You have a lot of land. Bet it is very peaceful up at the top of your land.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
Yes, it is.
Oh, what a view! So glad you showed it to us.
I’m glad you like it too.
no distance requirement there! just good clean fresh air!
at least I hope so.
we’re expecting severe weather tomorrow. maybe it will clean our air a bit. 🙂
Right now the nearest neighbor is over a half mile away, so no problem with social distancing.
another awesome scene but still a huge amount of burn out “sticks” in the distance. makes one realise the extent of those fires v time…
A lot of the burned trees have blown down, but there are still a lot left.
What a beautiful view you have up there.
Yes, that was the one good thing about the fire. We mourned the trees, but we did gain a view.
I love this. all those woods and no nearby neighbors. what a veiw.. not sure where you are. do you have to fret over forest fires during fire season? wish I could pop in for a visit to your beautiful land…
Yes, forest fires are a big concern. We lost all except one of our trees in 2011 because of a massive fire. We thought we were safe for the next few years, but then vegetation started growing again. That’s why we worked on clearing defensible space around the house, greenhouse, and shed. If the fire came from the wrong direction Andy would be trapped, so he’s prepared to shelter in place. We used to have several ways out, now there is just one because of road closures and destruction from the fire.
My gawd, did you hike to the top of that mountain also? Quite a climb for an octogenarian. Impossible for *this* newly aged octogenarian.
I have climbed it many times in the past, but not since I officially became an octogenarian. 🙂
