Andy planted some peony roots and was looking forward to seeing them grow. But this is what came up instead:
They don’t look like peonies, and we haven’t planted tulips since before the fire. We’re scratching our heads over this one.
Anyway, Happy May Day!
May 1, 2020
Well, it it is definitely a nice kind of mystery. And better than nothing coming up.
Yes. Andy will order more peonies.
well… I’d be tempted to say april fool! but I’d be a month late.
it’ll be a nice surprise. 🙂
😀
That is a mystery for sure, but a pleasant surprise. Mom has never had good luck with tulips. You will have to show us yours after the buds open.
Have a nice weekend.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
We will show you if someone doesn’t eat them first. 😀
I have thrown out the dirt in flower pots, forgetting that they once had bulbs in them from supermarket flowering plants. Maybe that’s how the tulips got there. Or a squirrel found the bulbs and buried them. Always nice to find ‘volunteer’ plants when you least expect them. I once had moss roses come up in a crack in my sidewalk and I hadn’t had any moss roses in my yard for the two years before that.
I love plants that manage to grow in cracks in the sidewalk. They’re my role models for resiliency.
indeed a mystery…and where are the real plants!
That’s what we can’t figure out! We will try again.
Well those are the strangest looking peonies that I’ve ever seen…lol I noticed that mine are starting to come up.
What do yours look like? I get the impression that they come up as shoots rather than as leaves first.
