Halloween Update

Kaitlin said they had about 50 trick-or-treaters, and they stayed outside with the table even though it was cold. Some of the neighbors went inside after a bit and left the candy out, but Kaitlin felt sorry for the kids because of the pandemic and wanted to be friendly. She sent these pictures:

Thanks so much, Kaitlin!

My Halloween was SCARY, but it had nothing to do with Halloween or physical danger. I’ll tell you about it tomorrow.

OH MY! I love your little furry grand dogs all dressed for Halloween! LOL!
I haven’t had trick or treaters since I owned my house.
our town right now is so sad. the ice storm moved through a few days ago and trees and tree limbs look like bombs hit them all over the city. Michael has spent the last two days trying to clean up just in his own yard.
what a waste. every street has damage up and down it! incredible.
hope it’s not a foretaste of the winter to come! I’ll need some treats to get me through it. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ve seen ice storms like that and they are so sad. Especially when the electricity goes out and you don’t know for how long.

    • Kaitlin says:

I am so sorry to hear about all of the damage to your beautiful town. I also hope this was a fluke of 2020 and not a sign of a damaging winter.

    • oh Tammy – that would’ve have been real scary – hope Michael has gotten everything cleared away – and there are no more bad storms…

yes I think we all need treats!

Awwww, I love your grand-dogs’ sweet get-ups! Kaitlin’s table sure looks welcoming. Props to her for helping weave children’s memories.

  3. Hey!! It was a tough year for the kids, I’m glad they got to have some fun! I love the fun costumes and the fun decorations too! I miss having trick-or-treaters….. and the leftover candy! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Jean says:

We haven’t had trick-or-treaters for years now, and it was fun. Especially as you say, when there was leftover candy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh don’t the dogs look cute in their Halloween costumes.

  5. Ginny Hartzler says:

Oh my gosh, this is a dog wearing a lion costume! So clever! Can’t wait to read your story next time.

Strong willed …It would have been way too cold for me!! If it’s a good scary, I look forward to your upcoming post.

Talk about scary when I saw that picture I saw there must be a lion in the yard and Caitlin was out there in the yard with a lion and then I saw her she was with a lion and a leopard black leopard. And then I went oh it’s a Halloween costume and two dogs sitting at the table what fun what fun. Love the photos thanks for sharing

In her latest post Tempi writes,

I am supposed to be a lion and Zoe is a black catโ€ฆso humiliatingโ€ฆwe HATE all felines. At least we are appropriately classified within the cat hierarchy โ€“ Me: Royalty of the Jungle; Zoe: an omen of bad times to come (from Wikipedia: โ€œThe black cat in folklore has been able to change into human shape to act as a spy or courier for witches or demonsโ€). Although she is still insisting that she went as a black panther. She is unique and rare, but really? Mom dressed as a sad Michigan fan.

That first dog picture looks like a lion! And not a very friendly one. Good for Kaitlin for serving the trick-or-treaters. But looking at their pictures, except for that great table full of candy, I’m glad I live in Arizona.

  9. Great heart in your daughter. And your grand-dogs look very cute.

Trick-or-treat was mostly abandoned in our area as too covid-risky. We didn’t get any callers the whole evening. I think most people were having indoor parties – with lots of fireworks! Maybe it’ll be business as usual next year.

    • Jean says:

That’s interesting. The areas that organized trick-or-treaters thought that was a lot safer than indoor parties. That’s too bad about the fireworks, for poor dogs.
