When Andy came home Monday evening he said the ground around the house looked like a barnyard. The deer had trampled the snow down to the bare earth. I asked him to take pictures yesterday.
He also saw tracks on his daily walk…the straight path is from his footprints.
We’re not the only ones enjoying the land.
December 16, 2020
looks like a major highway! 😀
our snow is all gone. it didn’t even last overnight.
hoping we get some more at Christmas!
Fingers crossed for you. 🙂
This must be a lot of animals!
Andy thinks it’s a small herd of deer…he’s never seen more than eight at a time.
wow, that’s a lot of traffic and like tammy a huge amount of highway needs…
do you have any idea what they are doing or what attracts them?
no SNOW here but the sun although out, isn’t terribly hot or humid – just right, if I’m mainly inside…
We think they’re looking for grass to eat, and we have a lot more grass now in our defensible space. Andy has been cutting down all the bushes.
It would be interesting to have a camera on the area….or a live webcam! That should be Andy’s next project is to put one we can all look at any time we want. LOL
I’ll mention that to him.
agree with Rose – webcam – maybe attach to ?greenhouse …
Wow…traffic. Looks like a rush hour in the recent day. Pretty even with all the trails & footprints.
Yes. 🙂
They have that nice, easy road to walk in…so much easier than walking through the trees and rocks and uneven terrain.
The road is LOT easier. 🙂
That was a very busy pathway:)
Yes. It’s fun to see.
As others noted, deer traffic appears to be heavy, or a few stopped and mulled around a bit.
They did mill around for a bit, Maybe looking for grass to eat under the snow?
I would love to walk those trails with whatever and whomever walked them first. what a beautiful place you have. I love the black fireplace. yes, buffet is our choice, even breakfast buffets.. we do love culvers burgers. none of which we have had for 9 months now.
As I mentioned, if we have to eat out we love (loved) buffets. It’s been years since we’ve eaten in one and most likely never will again.
That’s a lot of tracks. It sure is beautiful up there.
Yes. No cabin fever for Andy. 🙂
Beautiful! ‘Wish it contained a scratch-n-sniff feature! 🙂
😀
Really see those tracks!
Here, wild life will probably be hunkering down in place, today. We have loads of snow. And it is still coming down!!!!! (See me smiling????)
Happily, we don’t have to go anywhere today. Tomorrow yes, but not today, and roads will be cleared, by tomorrow.
Greetings from the North Pole!
You had quite a snow! I love the pictures you took.
