I have seen this before and my answer would be NO. I know it would be a sweet and humane thing to do, but I don’t care for rodents in my yard or around my house. They just give me the willies!!!! I do feed lots of birds though:)
I don’t think I would plant to Gardens because I can’t grow anything I have a black thumb but I would if I could. I’d rather have the groundhog canned veggies. But you’re right what we do when it just keep growing and growing
In answer to your question, I meant if I had a garden, I’d probably make sure they got food but so far I only plant flowers and tomatoes. There’s one huge groundhog that comes into my front yard and stands there or right on the sidewalk, munching on my fallen apples. I leave the apples until they start to get nasty and then I toss them. I live on a busy street but I get deer too. If I was a food gardener I’d probably end up making sure they had food. I’m feeding the birds and the feral cat every morning now that I’m home, so yes I could see it happening. As far as the numbers multiplying, I’d hope that there’s other yards they might be visiting too. I know the feral cat does…
They are an expensive proposition! Unless he grows his own plans. This was a fun watch! I don’t think we were ‘friends’ when we had a groundhog get locked in our garage! What a mess! Knocked down I forget what all….and I had shelves out there that I put empty canning jars on and it knocked all those down and broke them.
That was before Roger’s stroke in 2016…I cannot remember how long before it. And the groundhog still lives under our neighbor’s shed. We have only ever seen one.
Oh, wow! I’ve never seen a groundhog in real life, and I’m just as glad we don’t have them. We have ground squirrels instead…they’re smaller but there are more of them.
Yes, I would.
But you probably already knew that
😀
How long do you think you could keep it up if there were more and more groundhogs each year?
I wonder if they ‘knew’ they were looking right into the camera!
a very laid back neat guy. 😀 xo
That is interesting, isn’t it?
That was a great video. I would like to think I would do it too, but I can’t even get a garden going for just us:)
I think it would be a hopeless task. We had to give up our garden even though we were willing to share. We were quickly outnumbered.

I don’t garden for myself so no way am I doing all that work for a growing family of ground hogs. He seems to be enjoying the job though
I enjoyed the video but would like to know what happened in a couple of years.
All I can say is: to each his own. And more power to him. Some people make interests, habits. To me, this would be daunting.
I would love to know how it turns out.

He needs to relocate some of those babies when they are old enough. But the guy’s got a big heart.
He does have a big heart.

I so glad you have some deer and a groundhog visiting you! 🙂
