Hurray for Videos

Beate sent me a link to this video of birds on her porch.

It’s peaceful and sweet and reminded me of Hass, one of Kaitlin’s cats years ago. He loved to watch videos of birds and other creatures.

Our first visit to Kaitlin and Torben in Illinois was before they got their first pups, so Kaitlin said when we got there go to the back and get the key under the mat and make ourselves at home. We did, and Boomer, one of the cats, skedaddled as soon as he saw us. Hass was wary but more curious. He watched us from the dining room when Andy and I went into the living room. So I turned his video CD on and sat on the couch to watch with Andy. Hass looked at us, decided it was safe, and climbed onto his chair right in front of the TV to watch too. The three of us watched together until Kaitlin came home.

Another precious memory.

and the memory of Hass ‘welcoming’ you and Andy into his home! and then watching tv with you. YES! a precious memory indeed. 😀 XOXO

Ah, life in the land of plenty for everybody. Biden supporters, those birds.
    What? You don’t think so?!

    • Jean says:

No, they have too much sense for politics. They enjoy the treats and provide entertainment. A win-win arrangement. 🙂

What pretty birds. I especially like that one with the blue head and looks like several other colors.
    Cute story about the cats.

Those birds are so pretty. We have a hummingbird feeder this year that was a gift from our daughter for Christmas. So far we haven’t spotted any hummers but we are hopeful. Meanwhile we love hearing Dylan the canary sing for us almost all day long – he is quite the crooner.

  6. What kind of bird is that with the blue head? So pretty!

Oh, I love the story, too. Cats are all so different. We used to have one that was Sarah, and he would get made when we went on vacation and hide when Sarah came home. She would have to hunt him and love on him and then he was fine. She got him just a very few weeks before school started and gave him a lot of undivided attention. The first day or two that she went to school, he went through the house crying for her.

Wow! What beautiful and colorful birds. I love the birds that come to our feeders….I can just sit and watch and be at peace.

  9. thanks for sharing – I once had a cat who was trying to find where the “ducks” were from, and kept prowling around the back of the TV – I think we must have been watching a series about wildlife because it wasn’t just one night!

That wasn’t the same cat who caused us to wonder why a certain plant was having the stalks nibbled – especially since the plant was “plastic” until he strode in one evening and started nibbling!

I had a lot of dysfunctional cats at one time in my life!

Where are these colorful birds — S.A.?

That’s a really cute video of the bird I remember being shocked when I found out that birds like fruit. I found that out at jungle Gardens years ago when they were passing fruit out to the parrots. Love the cat story. We’ve never had a dog that watch TV but I’ve known people that did and a few cats also

When I was a kid my grandmother had apricot trees…birds would take a big peck out of the ripe ones. My sister and I didn’t mind sharing.

I smiled all the way through!
My son and DIL have always had cats, but they disappear whenever we non-residents appear, whether it be 3 hours or 3 days.
