Kaitlin had a friendly chipmunk at their new place. Once it came running straight to her when she was working in the garden. It startled her, which startled it, so it turned and ran off. Another time it tapped on the window of her office when she was on a Zoom call.
Presumably it had had a friendly relationship with the previous owner and wanted one with Kaitlin. Unfortunately for the poor chipmunk Kaitlin was already up to her ears in other things.

How cool is that. Charlie is quite the visitor.
Yes. it was a win-win for the chipmunk and for the gal.
Charlie is the cutest!!!
Hope Kaitlin can find time to set out some food. (Or are there bears?)
There are two pups who might like to do the chipmunk in, so it’s not a good idea.
What a fun video!!! I enjoyed it so much. How funny to watch Charlie fill his cheeks with all those goodies. Nice human too:)
Yes. 🙂
he responded to her when she said Freeze! that’s amazing.
and I too loved it when he wanted to just come and sit with her.
he wanted her company! she was his friend.
this was a wonderful post. xo
I agree, it was so sweet.
Chipmunks are very entertaining and not hard to get to eat out of your hand. Unfortunately they also get comfortable coming into your house and can do a lot of damage.
They also do a lot of damage to gardens.
That’s an amazing video.
🙂
Oh, this makes my heart happy!
🙂
sooooo precious… I want one of these with my new camera.
🙂
so much fun
now I have a question… are chipmunks all over the USA?
me who has never seen a chipmunk up live, and there are none here…
Apparently so: https://www.havahart.com/chipmunk-facts
thanks Jean, so a relative of the squirrel but seems to be rather miniature version. Interesting all over your part of the world, but not drifted right down into Sth America. And noted the Siberian strain…
And it seems that no traveller has successfully carried to another country – like on ships where they travelled not via a human but as a free-stowage passenger. Jumping onto dry land when they arrived some place.
