No, it has never happened to me. It is a good touch…could at least tell if they delivered it to the wrong place. Or I could here. I guess it would depend on were you live. (I had a sewing machine delivered to the wrong house from another business…of course the people claimed that it had been stolen from their porch)
It would be a great help if a package were delivered to the wrong place. Then it would be easy to get a replacement sent, you would have proof.
I have had a couple packages that did this. Yes, I like it!
I don’t know how much of a nuisance it is to the delivery person, but I like it. 🙂
I think we in my region would love that idea – as so many “delivered things” missing – couriers (delivery word/here) not even looking at delivery instructions…and then because the “package” will fit in our street letterboxes which are not secure – stolen. Some boxes are secure but then the would be thieves break in…the people next door have had their metal letterbox front, bent open.
I though have only had a few issues…best to keep checking online tracking – because something I recently got – said “delivered” but of course it was small enough to be in the letterbox (on the street frontage)
And I’m glad, I’m down a driveway for food deliveries, because there have been cases of “delivered to front porch” but still stolen…
That’s too bad. 🙁 We’ve never had things stolen, but sometimes they have been misdelivered.
Two of the last three deliveries had pictures of it sitting on my porch. I think it depends on who’s delivering the package. Its nice especially if it gets delivered to the wrong house. In my case though they didn’t really show enough of the porch that I would have been able to recognize where it had been delivered if it wasn’t my own porch.
I wouldn’t know which apartment to look for if/when they give it to the wrong apartment. I was thinking about that. They don’t show the apartment number, but I could get some information by looking at the shadows. We’re facing south, the apartments facing north would be in the shade, as would some of the apartments on the lower level. Interesting problem. 🙂
We get a picture with every delivery, but all of ours come my the Amazon Truck, if it comes any other way no picture.. UPS sends a picture also. USPS just drops it and runs, no knock nothing. Fedex is a curse word in our house, they dump it at the wrong address more than half the time.. Since we are 30 minutes from Amazon, the big blue truck brings almost all of ours…once i forgot the package was coming that day and got up the next morning and found the email. it stayed out all night because I don’t check my email after 5 pm…wish they would knock when they send the email
Our delivery people don’t always knock either, so the emails help.
That saves the delivery service with proof it was delivered. Yes, I have had pics of packages.
It’s not perfect, but it’s a good idea.
Little things mean a lot, don’t they?
Unfortunately, that perk’s not yet made it’s way to central Alabama. Like Sandra, FedEx’s service is horrible. Even through the pandemic, UPS has been good.
I’ve had some trouble with FedEx too. 🙁
Pictures would not help me since packages are either delivered to the front desk or the loading dock. I do get a message they were delivered but it might be a few hours later before they actually get delivered to my door. And that person sometimes rings the bell but not always so we have to keep checking to see if they are out in our hallway yet. But, if they come USPS and are small they get stuffed in our mailbox which Dave only checks on a random basis so it could sit there for a week. If the message says it was delivered to the front desk and I am in a hurry for it, I sometimes send Dave down to get it. That doesn’t always work, either if it had already been loaded onto a cart for delivery. Maybe I should ask staff to send me a picture when they bring a package up to us?
That’s a nuisance. 🙁
They have included a picture with mine for as long as I can remember. It’s a great idea.
You’re way ahead of us. 🙂
