We’ve had some rain lately, which means it’s time for Andy to work on the defensible space around the house, greenhouse, and shed. In particular, to work on the mulleins.
He did a wise thing, he searched the internet for a tool that could help him dig up the smaller ones without hurting his back. It looks as if Grandpa’s Weeder might do the trick…click on the picture to see the video.
So we ordered it and it’s supposed to come today. Fingers crossed it works…we will let you know.

That is one chore I detest!.
…weeding
You are not alone!
There is Mullein growing around here, it can get very high, like over three feet! I’m glad he got this tool, it doesn’t take much to hurt your back!
The weeds keep coming back! 🙁
what a great video! and the groovy 1940’s music! lol
and Andy looks very happy in that picture. xo
I know, that video was so cheerful as well as informative. 🙂
That tool is genius! I hope the inventor got credit. I hope it works as well as it looks like it will.
Apparently they’ve been making them since 1913, so that’s encouraging.
We can’t wait for your review. We could use a tool like that here too.
We’ll let you know. They say the ground has to be moist for it to work.
jazzy music to get you in the groove…
It added so much to the video. 🙂
That looks like a very handy tool. I hope it works as well as the video shows. Looking forward to hearing your review.
It didn’t work for Andy today, I’ll write more about it tomorrow. 🙁
the first photo came up and I thought OH NO the back the back. it would kill my back. that weeder thing is a miracle if it works. can’t wait to find out… hope it comes in time to share tomorrow. you know I do hate to wait on a cliffhanger
Andy didn’t have any luck with it today. I’ll write about it tomorrow.
If it works as well as its advertised it should save Andy a lot of work.
Unfortunately…. 🙁
I suppose a lot depends on the soil, but have my fingers crossed!
It looks as if our soil is too rocky. 🙁
