We haven’t had trick-or-treaters here in years, but Kaitlin and Torben are on a street where the residents take Halloween seriously. They have a lot of visitors…here’s the candy (in the truck of their car) K and T bought:
Kaitlin said they gave it out for a few hours before they ran out. Then they took this video of the happy crowd outside. (Click on the picture.)
Andy and I cheerfully admit we’re glad we weren’t there. But we’re glad the kids had a good time.

wow
as I’ve said before it’s not a tradition here, until the marketers got in on the act
what is coming up real soon is Guy Fawkes night with fireworks. and I’m not a fan of them at all, since a decade or so when something when “off” at my previous home. I’m a worry woss the minute they start up – as they often go for weeks, as people buy up big and stockpile
I would hate Guy Fawkes Day. I hate noise!
I am wondering if that is on their street? in front of their home? or at a gathering somewhere. No crowds for me. I prefer a quiet street and lucky for us we live in a quiet neighborhood. but then they are in CA which is well know for things like this. great video shot in the low light and i love the waterfall too.
As I understand it, it’s on their street. They were told when they moved that it was the Halloween street, so be prepared. I don’t know why it was chosen, but most of the residents decorate a lot. K and T didn’t because they’re only there for one Halloween.
Wow, that is a lot of kids. I peeked out the window last night and there are fewer and fewer that come up our street every year. The big place to trick or treat these days is on the 3 roads behind me. Plus there are a few places that do the trunk or treat thing in town.
Here they have trick-or-treating downtown the Friday before Halloween. It’s friendly and safe.
As long as children are safe…that’s what matters.
Yes. 🙂
Wow, they must live in a very populated suburban area! Though it is a chore, I enjoyed seeing some of the tiny cuties last night, toddler fairies and such.
We haven’t had any in years.
This makes me feel really old. (LOL)
We had only one little group of beggars pass by last night — for which our dogs and I are eternally grateful.
Yes. I imagine it’s a lot nicer. 🙂
I participated in a trunk or treat evening at my church one year. It was a very sad event. So, I’m glad to see kids are still enjoying this holiday somewhere but I’m not sorry to say it is not here. 🙂
