Thriving, Not Just Surviving

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.
—Maya Angelou

I think I do all right on passion, compassion, and humor. I’m not sure about style, my tastes are very unsophisticated. Anyway, as I’ve said, my main job right now is to be as healthy and happy as I can be so Kaitlin doesn’t have to worry about me. Hopefully I can also show that growing old doesn’t stop us from thriving, living life to the max.

  1. I like thriving

I’ve plenty to do with my time, even if some of it seems that I’m not. I’m working on some thing a bit different this week…I’ll write about it when I’ve got most of it done – it’s not “creating an artwork” but has much to do like in “nuts and bolts” ( no bolts were harmed in it all )

Moodling time is important too. “The imagination needs moodling,–long, inefficient happy idling, dawdling and puttering.” Brenda Ueland

prosper, flourish, grow or develop well or vigorously.
“the new baby thrived” this is what I found when I looked to see what thriving means. I am none of the above. I think I might be maybe a 6 on the surviving scale of 1-10

    I love that quote!
Not sure how much passion I’ve remaining; style, too. But yes, I aim to thrive!

That’s a great quote. I definitely have the humor part down. I love the fact that I can do stupid things now and laugh at myself instead of being embarrassed.
