Heβd had enough of being at the animal shelter, so Scout the dog climbed over one tall fence and then another, crossed a busy highway in the darkness, entered the automatic doors of a nursing home down the road, walked unnoticed into the lobby, hopped onto a couch, curled into a ball and quietly went to sleep for the night.

The staff of the nursing home named him Scott and phoned animal control, which took him back to the shelter. A few night’s later Scott was back and again was returned to the shelter. When he came back the third time the nursing home adopted him and the residents are thrilled. It’s a win-win for everyone.
How heart-warming is that?

he is beautiful and smart too. God bless the dog and the nursing home. I wonder if he can sit on the kitchen counter by the sink and look out the window? LOL LOL
I’m guessing he’s better behaved than that. π
He was meant to be there and he obviously knew it. What a sweet story.

Cool dog I guess

A happy ending for all. I think all nursing homes should have a resident dog and/or cat.
I agree with that. π
It’s a beautiful story. He sure is handsome.
π
I agree! All nursing homes should feature a resident pup — or several.

Is Scott related to Tempi?

Nice story.

Wonderful! He knew what he wanted, and went for it, never giving up!

What a great story!!! We especially love the happy ending. We think Scott knew where he was very much needed.
