Keep Calm and Carry On

I love this poster, but I think the sentiment is wrong. Yes, we shouldn’t panic or catastrophize, but notice Pooh is paddling and Piglet is bailing.

The old British sentiment,

Keep calm and carry on

seems to be more appropriate. What do you think?

One of our meteorologist’s favorite sayings is, “Don’t panic. Just prepare.”

  4. Linda Sand says:

But, I am so good at obsessing.

  5. The OP Pack says:

You are totally on point. Yes, stay calm, carry on, but please don’t stop using the noodle. One CAN be calm and think at the same time::)

    • Jean says:

The truth is our brains don’t work if we’re in a panic mode. That’s why we need to practice calming techniques.

  6. Ann Thompson says:

I think either is appropriate. I do like the saying on the poster though and I often remind myself to stay calm and not obsess.

    • Jean says:

I can see why the reminder not to obsess could be useful if “thinking” means our minds start racing and worrying.

love the poster, love Pooh and his friends and in the south, we say Stay Calm and Carry on… the saying is a good one and in the past I was pretty good at doing just that, it seems AGE has wrecked the stay calm part and enhanced the obsess part

  8. Rose says:

    I like both sayings…

  9. By Jove you are right … what? Keep calm and carry on. Take you umbrella with you!

    God bless.

  10. That’s a good case of whatever works!

  11. That’s true about the photo and the bailing of the water. How can you not obsess over that?
