Early voting started May 7, and I’ve had it on my calendar nagging at me. I was planning to go next week, but I found out that starting yesterday the polls are also open on Saturdays now. So off I went. Partly I do it because I treasure the right to vote, but even more because I’m touched by the poll workers. They were happy to see me and thanked me for voting. (I was the only voter there at the time, but a fellow was walking in as I left.) It made me happy to tell them how much I appreciated them. I was on Cloud 9 for the rest of the day.

Awesome ?
🙂
Oops that an ace emotion!
We had local elections over here early in May. It is always for one day only – and always on a Thursday whether it is a local or national election.
God bless you.
I’m grateful we can do it.
We have found each time we go to vote there are only a few of us there at one time. 2 to 4. we used to stand in lines. I think having several weeks to vote and also mail in ballots has made it easier to vote. of course we don’t go on election day so that might still be crowded.
We’re pampered now, and I love it!
forgot to say, I always thank people who work, and it makes them feel good and me too. I thank our garbage guys too, they have a lousy jobs and the CNA’s in nursing homes have a horrid job at low pay. I always thanked them too
I’m with you, that’s so important.
…on May 21th we vote for school board members. Historically these elections weren’t high on my priority list, but now with book burners on the rise these elections have taken on new importance.
I haven’t been following those elections here. In fact I was trying to get educated and it turned out I couldn’t vote because the seat for my area wasn’t up for election.
We’ve been doing the early voting thing lately too. It sure beats standing in long lines.
Yes!
I have got to see about getting mail in ballots for us…
They do try to make it easy for us.
Good for you!
Thanks. 🙂
Way to go!!!!
Thanks. 🙂
Bravo to you for exercising your privilege.
Thanks. 🙂
You are so right! My best friend and her husband are both poll workers. They have to stay much longer after the polls are closed. They can’t leave the building and must bring their own meals and drinks. They only get a few minutes for eating, and they lose so much sleep. I think most people don’t realize how hard it is.
Thanks for telling us that. 🙂
Good for you!
Thanks.
Good for you! (And them.) I think it’s sad more people don’t appreciate this privilege.
I know. 🙁
Good job!!! We try to do the mail-in ballot. It seems to work well, but with the craziness in the world today, who knows?
That’s another way to do it, and I assume it’s safe.
