Celery Update

I took this picture yesterday. The big celery may have been putting out a little root, but even if that weren’t true I would have planted it anyway. Why? Because I was supposed to change the water every two days, and the stump was suddenly getting slimy. Yuck! So in the pot it went, it will either grow or it won’t. No handling slimy stumps for me.

The little one was put in water last Sunday, September 7. It had started growing the next day — we will have to see how they both do.

They both look amazing. I did finally get mine planted in a pot. I need to get another picture of it soon.

If we ate celery I would try this, but to buy it and toss it just to grow one is kind of crazy. the only way I eat celery is with lots of cream cheese or pimento cheese or peanut butter. due to tummy issues I can’t eat raw veggies and cheeses are very limited to hard only… Maybe a neighbor might have one I could grow, and now I am pondering what it costs these days. house bound for 6 months and have no clue

You are doing so well with your gardening of the celery. Looks so healthy and not far from being able to harvest. Have a blessed day.

A grandbaby! I store my scallions in water, they keep a long time that way. But I always forget to change the water, so they go bad!

Good luck with the two plants. Hope you get some tasty celery. Lately the stalks I buy have not been that great. Happy Sunday.

    That does look wonderfully healthy.
I’m afraid if I touched that slimy water, the whole thing would’ve gone airborne. Eeeew!
