I love this cartoon. The fellow is saying,
I believe in facing reality, but only because I don’t like turning my back on it.
Andy and I spend a lot of time and money trying to understand what’s going on in our nation and the world. It’s important to us but we’re retired and don’t have a lot of other obligations. The fellow in the cartoon implies being informed will make a big difference. What do you think?

Apathy about what is going on in our country is what is allowing the craziness to flourish and grow. By the time people with their heads in the sand see it it will be too late to change. Being informed definitely makes a difference!

Apathy. Yes, it is the path to destruction. When people would tell me they don’t do politics I told them that may be so, but politics will certainly do you.

Well, it is funny. And sometimes, ignorance is not bliss.
And sometimes knowledge is a pain! I recently found out we were using the wrong LEDs in our enclosed kitchen light fixture. I spent a couple of hours trying to find suitable ones.
It’s gotten so bad that I no longer give it the attention it doesn’t deserve. I was, however, pleased to read of the award of the Nobel Peace Prize this morning! :^D

We try to stay informed too, but the scary part is that it doesn’t appear to be much we can do to stop the chaos.
We can do little things to push the world in the direction we want to go. It’s better than nothing.

I think that being informed is good but unfortunately there are so many lies and half truths floating around that it’s hard to know what to believe.
